mama's calendar

I'm not sure why these rotate when I upload them....

Work in progress...

I don't keep up too well, especially this time of year!  Hopefully mom won't be checking out the blog, because I wanted to give my friends a "work in progress" peek!  I've been hard at work all day today, and only have a week to go before I"ve gotta be done with both of these calendars!  YIKES!!!

I just have to give a quick shout out to one of my new favorite blogs...http://monkeydoodlecricut.blogspot.com/ I noticed on my Everyday Cricut that I was really liking some of the layouts, and I just figured out they all belong to the SAME person!  Monique Griffith!  I did a little "scraplifting"  ~a term she used on her blog that I just LOVED :)~and have loved the way my pages have been turning out!!!  Thanks Monique :)

I have been having a BLAST scrapping our vacation to Florida!  I guess it helps that I love the subjects of the pictures so much!!  Most all cuts came from the "Life's A Beach" cartridge, with a few others snuck in here and there.

Its been a while... I worked like crazy this week putting together some signs for the booths at our church's 4th of July outreach.  12 signs... I learned during the process to LOVE my gypsy finally!  I was still highly favoring my DS for my cricut projects up until this week :)  I needed so many different images and it was awesome to be able to not have to worry about hooking up all the different cartridges I combined.  I also designed most of the layouts while sitting at gymnastics for hours on end!  I can't begin to list all the cartridges I used, but it was a lot of Create A Critter and Paper Dolls for Everyday!  I think the new update may have helped a lot.  The Gypsy seemed easier to manuever.  I'm still not sure about the photo app (what exactly is it for?)  and although the contour feature was enhanced, I want to be able to crop some images a lot more than what it would let me!  All in all, I can finally give my YOU NEED THIS recommendation to the Gypsy, yay!!

Great Birthday!

I had a great birthday this year :)  My BFF bought me a clip it up base unit and top tier... I was dying for one!  Then, hubby bought me another base unit and 2 swinging wall arms.  They are SO COOL!!!  I am an organizer freak, I admit it!  Then, mom bought me 3 new cricut carts (Heritage, Forever Young, and Create a Critter) and then I got a couple gift cards and some money that I used to buy 2 more carts... Just because cards and Once upon a princess!  (I REALLY wanted the Elegant Cakes, but our Michaels just refuses to put them out!  grrrrr)  THEN, with my cricut rewards, I ordered a couple I love my cricut items, and the Stamping solutions cartridge.  I just love crafty birthdays!! :)

Easter Layout

My 2 page Easter layout.  I kinda copied a layout from Melanie over at Everyday Cricut http://www.cricutholiday.com/2010/04/easter-bunny-layout-with-doodlebug.html,  I just loved the colors and layout she used!  I mixed it up a little bit to add more pictures (because I'm all about the pictures!)  I used SU lovely lilac cardstock, and added layers of Nana's Kids stack, mixed with SU taken with teal.  Then, I cut the bunnies at 2" from the Everyday Paperdolls cartridge on Shimmery White paper by SU.  I love the way it turned out.  So thankful for great inspiration!  :)

Mrs. Wilson's 1st Grade

So, I uploaded all the pictures from the 9x9 scrapbook I'm putting together for Kadin's teacher, Mrs. Wilson.  But, each post only took 1 picture.  :(   I'll have to learn how to put more than 1 in each post.  Anyway, Kadin's class (dubbed the excellent eight) does so much fun stuff, and Mrs. Wilson is always having them create cute projects for us parents, so I decided she would love a small memoir of this class :)  We will give it to her this Friday.  Hope she loves it :)
